Whitening Bleaching (also known as teeth whitening or tooth whitening) is used to whiten teeth. It is a noninvasive cosmetic dentistry procedure. Dr. Elseweifi, an experienced Chicago dentist, will examine your teeth and decide whether to do the bleaching in the office or prescribe bleaching at home. When done in the office, Dr. Elseweifi will apply a teeth whitening gel containing a high concentration of hydrogen peroxide to the teeth. This is usually done in one visit. For home whitening, Dr. Elseweifi will prescribe patient wears trays containing a teeth whitening gel. The trays are used for a few hours every day. The average patient will wear mouth trays for one to two weeks. More severe stains can often be improved with extended use of a home teeth whitening system.
